Our family has spent many years renovating the most beautiful farmhouses Transylvania has to offer – and giving them a new lease of life, in Cund, Romania, at Valea Verde Retreat. Today, our guests can enjoy four comfortable apartments in the main building, next to the Restaurant, each with its own separate entrance and a spacious patio. Those seeking to take a deeper plunge into rural life will be charmed by our double rooms or renovated country houses in the village (about 300-400 m away from the Valea Verde Retreat). In the process of infusing tradition with today’s spirit, our guiding motifs were to preserve local accents (burning stove, handmade wood furniture), reintegrate old values into modern life, and manifest our lifelong passion for details.
All village lodgings are licensed by the Romanian Tourism Authority and are classified with 2 or 3 “daisies” (the classification system for rural tourism accommodation).
Casa Samways
The lovely Samways House is located on the main street, enjoying great views of the St. Nicholas Church from the living room.
Casa Bierzahn
The Bierzahn House is an old Saxon farmhouse, in the centre of Cund village, neighbouring two similar buildings, in the local tradition.
Casa Valea Verde
Our apartments are fitted with en-suite bathrooms and traditional wood-burning stoves, which make for a cosy and romantic setting.
Casa Cund
These apartments are great for couples or families with one child. The distance to the restaurant is approximately 350 m.
Casa Cal
A charming house with four chic rooms, a generous yard, and a terraced area among the vines, perfect for couple getaways and disconnection from the urban jungle.
Casa Yard
Welcome to our home! These apartments are in a lovely yard, situated on the main road, near the horse stables.
Parish House
The Casa Parohială (The Old Vicarage) in Cund was meticulously renovated over the course of three years, preserving its charming 19th-century style. In 2023, it was lovingly brought back to life.
Holiday Homes
Our holiday houses are great for small groups of four to eight persons. They are fitted with a kitchen, fireplace, garden, and terrace.
Reussdorfer Hof
The "Reussdorfer Hof" is the biggest house in Cund, restored to cater families or friends travelling together.
