THE VENUE

The Valea Verde Lounge seats up to 120 guests across two connected rooms, with long wooden tables in the Transylvanian tradition. Outside, our two-hectare garden slopes down to Valea Verde Lake, framed by open, fence-free hills. Under our ancient willow tree — where couples have been exchanging vows for years — we can set up seating for up to 120 guests, for an outdoor civil or religious ceremony.

FOOD & WINE

We cook with local, seasonal ingredients, many grown in our own garden. Your wedding menu can be served as a generous buffet or a multi-course seated dinner — including dishes with truffles, the black gold of the Transylvanian forests. Our open bar package includes house wines, selected Romanian wines, bar drinks and homemade lemonades.

ACCOMMODATION FOR YOUR GUESTS

You and your guests can stay right at Valea Verde — in the apartments next to the restaurant, or in restored Saxon farmhouses in the village, a few minutes' walk away. Each house keeps its original charm, with tiled stoves and carefully restored furniture.

MORE FOR YOUR GUESTS TO ENJOY

Swimming in the lake, massages, carriage rides or horseback riding with one of our 7 horses, sauna or hot tub at the Spa Cabin. After dinner, a bonfire and a midnight wild boar goulash for anyone still up for one more story.

We intentionally host only a small number of weddings each year, so every celebration receives our full attention. Here are the available or currently in-progress weekends for 2026–2027, updated regularly.

How many guests can a wedding at Valea Verde host?

The venue comfortably hosts up to 120 guests. The space is flexible, though — a few years ago we hosted a 300-guest wedding here, extending into the Retreat's outdoor areas.

Yes, we host both civil and religious wedding ceremonies at Valea Verde, giving every detail the same care regardless of which type of ceremony you choose.

Is there on-site accommodation for guests?

Yes. The couple and their guests can stay right at Valea Verde Retreat, in our restored houses in Cund, just steps from the wedding venue.

How far in advance should we book our date?

The earlier you book, the better your chances of securing your preferred date. As with any major event, we recommend getting in touch as soon as you have a date in mind, especially for summer weekends, the most requested time for weddings here.

What's included in the venue rental fee?

The rental fee covers exclusive use of the Retreat and restaurant, decorative lighting installations, candles, a bonfire, and the staffing costs for your event.
