Located in the historical resort of Siniai, Peleş Castle is said to be one of Europe’s most beautiful palaces. Built “recently”, in 1873, for Romania’s Royal Family, the palace is a superb combination of wood, stone, brick and marble, and contains over 160 rooms, decorated in an eclectic combination of the German Renaissance, Italian, Gothic, German Baroque and Rococo French styles. The property is home to one of the most important and valuable painting collections in Europe, featuring nearly 2,000 works, as well as a wide variety of other exhibits. On the way back to the heart of Transylvania, we will visit the Black Church, Braşov’s flagship historical building, and the largest Gothic cathedral in this part of Europe, between Vienna and Istanbul.
