Enjoy a wonderful daytrip exploring two stunning villages in Transylvania, both on the UNESCO heritage list: Viscri and Saschiz. The areas around these villages are among Europe’s last remaining pockets of authentic medieval countryside, where you can stroll through some of the continent’s most precious countryside. Preserved practically unchanged over the centuries, these meadows are wonderful examples of how low-intensity agriculture can exist alongside a wealth of flora and fauna! Little wonder that Prince Charles was "overwhelmed by the unique beauty of the places and the tremendous wealth of traditions", persuading him to buy a house in Viscri in 2007.

Stops on this half-day tour include:
The Fortified Church & Saschiz Fortress (World Heritage Site)
Adept – a foundation working to protect rural areas and promote sustainable agriculture
The Fortified Church & a traditional Saxon house in Viscri (World Heritage Site)

Duration: six to seven hours. Distance: 150 km.
Includes: transport, driver/qualified English-speaking guide, constant assistance
Not included: meals, entry fees (EUR 3 per person)
