Peleș Castle: The Late Gothic Pearl of the Carpathians

01 January 1970 - 31 December 2024

Located in the old mountain resort Sinaia, Peles Castle is considered by many as one of the most beautiful castles in all Europe, built just “recently” in 1873 for the royal family of Romania. The castle was built in wood, stone, bricks and marble and comprises more than 160 rooms, featuring an eclectic mix of German Renaissance, Italian Renaissance, Gothic, German Baroque and French Rococo style.

Peles Castle hosts also one of the most important and most valuable painting collections in Europe, almost 2.000 pieces and a large variety of other interesting exhibits. On your way back, in the heart of Transylvania, we will visit the Black Church, Brasov’s most important landmark and the largest Gothic church between Vienna and Istanbul.
